About United Baptist Churches Association (UBCA)

A registered association committed to Christ-centred ministry, fellowship and outreach across congregations in North East India.

About UBCA

The United Baptist Churches Association (UBCA) is a registered body under The Registration Act, 1860. It is duly registered by the Home Department, Government of Nagaland — Certificate of Registration No. H/RS-5450 dated 25 June 2009.

As the years passed, more churches joined UBCA. The Association now has its Mission Centre at Nihoto Village — land generously donated by Dr. P. Nihoto Chishi (Village Chief / Head G.B).

In 2014 the Lord blessed UBCA with two permanent plots. Dr. P. Nihoto Chishi (Akukatou / Head G.B) and family gifted approximately 1½ biga for the Mission Centre. Later, in 2020, Mr. Lovito Y. Zhimo (G.B) and family gifted a plot at Y. Zhimo Colony, Dimapur (measuring 40 × 60) — this is now the UBCA Service Office.

Mission & Vision

The official motto of the United Baptist Churches Association (UBCA) is: “Unbroken Chain of Unity in Christ”.

Our vision is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ — who died on the cross for our sins to give us eternal life. The major thrust of our mission comes from the biblical mandate, the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20): to go and preach the gospel to all nations.

UBCA seeks to be Christo-centric and society-oriented. We are open to churches and fellowships that demonstrate genuine commitment and dedication to God’s mission. UBCA cooperates with other Christian groups and organizations to:

  • Eradicate social evils and promote social awareness.
  • Support peace, justice, and moral & spiritual foundations of good citizenship.
  • Conduct conferences, seminars, revival meetings, and awareness programs.

Our mission has a holistic outlook: to reach the unreached, win lost souls across diverse communities, engage in church planting, and minister in contexts including defence & paramilitary camps (Assam Rifles, BSF, ASRF) and beyond.

We emphasize four-fold functions of the church: fellowship, unity in Christ, witnessing, and serving.

Statement of Faith

We explicitly affirm our belief in the following teachings of Scripture:

  1. Scripture: The Divine inspiration of the Holy Bible (66 books) as the infallible, inspired Word of God and the supreme authority for faith and conduct.
  2. God: One true God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  3. Jesus Christ: The full deity and humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin birth; His substitutionary death; bodily resurrection; and personal return in power and glory.
  4. Humanity & Salvation: The dignity of man, human sinfulness, and the need for repentance, redemption and justification through faith in Christ alone.
  5. Resurrection & Judgment: The resurrection of both the lost and the saved — lost to condemnation, saved to eternal life.
  6. Unity of Believers: The spiritual unity of all believers who comprise the Church, the Body of Christ.
  7. Baptism: Water baptism by immersion — all who repent should be baptized in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  8. Repentance: All have sinned and need repentance; repentance is commanded by God and necessary for forgiveness.
  9. Second Coming: The pre-millennial second coming of Jesus Christ.
  10. Holy Spirit: The illuminating, regenerating, indwelling, and sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit enabling Christians to witness and serve effectively.
